This methodology is aligned with the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which we use as a guide to establish clear objectives and internationally recognized proficiency levels.
What is the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)?
The CEFR is an international standard that describes the language skills a person must have to communicate in a foreign language. It divides language proficiency into six levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2, ranging from beginner to advanced.
Each level specifies what a student can do in terms of oral and written comprehension, oral and written expression.
Thanks to this framework, both students and companies can clearly understand the learner's current level and set realistic and measurable learning objectives.
Certification path and levels
At Wediom we accompany you step by step in your English learning with a structured certification path aligned to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Each level passed is backed by an official Wediom certificate, validated under our Step by Step methodology, which integrates theory, practice and real application of English in everyday and professional situations. The certification path is organized as follows:
Level A1
Understanding and use of basic expressions to introduce oneself, greet, understand and communicate in simple situations.
Level A2
Development of vocabulary and structures to handle broader conversations on everyday topics.
Level B1
Ability to function in social and work contexts, express opinions and understand texts of medium difficulty.
Level B2
Consolidation of fluency in oral and written communication, with comprehension of complex texts and active participation in debates and professional environments.
